Logging Time Entries

Learn how to use the calendar view to log time entries with descriptions and project assignments.

Open the Calendar View

The Calendar view is the primary place to log your work hours in Logged. Navigate to it from the sidebar — it shows the current week by default, with each day displayed as a column. You can navigate between weeks using the arrow buttons or keyboard shortcuts.

Add a New Time Entry

Click on any day in the calendar or use the "Add Entry" button to create a new time entry. Select the project you worked on from the dropdown, enter the number of hours spent, and write a clear description of the work you performed. Detailed descriptions are important as they are used during the approval process and in reports.

Each time entry must be assigned to a project. If you do not see the project you need, ask your team admin to create it or check that the project's tracking dates cover the current period.

Edit and Delete Entries

You can edit any time entry that has not yet been submitted for approval. Click on an existing entry in the calendar to open it, make your changes, and save. To delete an entry, open it and click the delete button. Once a week has been submitted for approval, entries for that week can no longer be modified unless the submission is rejected by an admin.

Using the Timer

For real-time tracking, use the built-in timer. Start the timer when you begin working, and it will automatically calculate the duration. When you stop the timer, a new time entry is created with the elapsed time pre-filled. You can then add the project and description before saving.
