Project Configuration
Learn how to create, edit, and manage projects in Logged, including setting date ranges and archiving.
Creating Projects
To create a new project, navigate to the Projects page and click the "New Project" button. Enter a project name and an optional description. The description helps team members understand what work should be tracked under this project. Projects are visible to all team members once created.
Editing Project Details
Admins can edit project details at any time from the Projects page. Click on a project to update its name, description, or tracking settings. Changes take effect immediately and are reflected across all team members' views. The project description is especially useful for providing context when generating AI-powered reports.
Setting Tracking Date Ranges
Each project can have a start date and an optional end date. The date range determines the period during which time entries can be logged against the project. This is particularly useful for projects with defined timelines. Team members will only be able to log hours within the configured date range.
Archiving Projects
When a project is completed, you can archive it instead of deleting it. Archived projects no longer appear in the active project list or the calendar time entry form, but all historical time entries and reports are preserved. You can unarchive a project at any time if work resumes.
