Audit Log

Learn how to view team activity and filter the audit log by action type.

What Is the Audit Log

The Audit Log in Logged records every significant action performed within your team. This includes time entry creation and edits, approval and rejection events, project changes, team member additions and removals, and role modifications. The audit log provides a complete, chronological trail of all activity, which is essential for compliance, accountability, and troubleshooting.

Accessing the Audit Log

Admins can access the Audit Log from the sidebar or team settings area. The log displays entries in reverse chronological order, with the most recent actions at the top. Each entry shows the date and time, the team member who performed the action, the type of action, and a brief description of what changed. Click on any entry to see additional details about the specific change.

Filtering by Action Type

The audit log supports filtering to help you find specific events quickly. Use the action type filter to narrow results to a particular category — for example, show only approval events, only project changes, or only team membership changes. You can also filter by team member to see all actions performed by a specific person. Combining filters lets you quickly locate the exact activity you are looking for.

Using the Audit Log for Compliance

For teams that need to demonstrate compliance with regulations or grant requirements, the audit log serves as an official record of all time tracking activity. The immutable nature of the log — entries cannot be deleted or modified — ensures that auditors can trace the full history of any change. This is particularly valuable for teams working with government grants, regulated industries, or clients that require detailed activity records.
