Approval Stuck

Resolve issues when time entry approvals are not progressing, including admin overrides and handling rejections in Logged.

Why Approvals May Be Stuck

Approvals can appear stuck for several reasons. The most common is that the designated approver has not yet reviewed the submitted entries. Approvals require an admin to review and either approve or reject them. If your approval has been pending for an extended period, reach out to your team admin directly to remind them.

Admin Override

Team admins have the ability to override stuck approvals. If an approval is stuck because the original approver is unavailable, any admin can step in and process the approval. Navigate to the Approvals page, find the pending entries, and approve or reject them as appropriate. Admin overrides are logged for audit purposes.

Handling Rejections

When a time entry is rejected, you will see it marked as rejected on the Approvals page. Review the rejection reason provided by the admin, make the necessary changes to the time entry (such as updating the description, hours, or project), and resubmit it for approval. Corrected entries go back to the pending approval queue.

Preventing Approval Delays

To minimize approval delays, submit your time entries regularly rather than in large batches. Ensure your entries have clear, detailed descriptions that make it easy for approvers to understand the work performed. Admins should check the Approvals page daily to keep the queue moving. Setting up a regular approval schedule helps keep the process smooth.
